Future Experts with Prof. Paul Newman Autonomous Cars of Tomorrow

Join us for a Future Experts talk in collaboration with Dubai Future Labs at the Museum of the Future, featuring the founder of the Oxford Robotics Institute & Oxbotica Professor Paul Newman. In this Future Experts talk Prof. Newman will discuss the accelerating potential of autonomous vehicles to revolutionize transportation.

The future of autonomous vehicles holds immense promise. By leveraging advanced technologies like artificial intelligence and machine learning, autonomous vehicles can revolutionize transportation, making it safer, more efficient, and accessible. These vehicles have the potential to reduce accidents, alleviate traffic congestion, and provide mobility solutions for the elderly and disabled. Additionally, autonomous vehicles can play a crucial role in sustainable transportation by reducing carbon emissions and optimizing energy consumption.

About the Speaker

Professor Paul Newman leads the Oxford Robotics Institute, which enjoys a world leading reputation in mobile autonomy - developing machines and robots which map, navigate through and understand their environments. The group has a particular focus on transport, including robot autonomy, navigation, mapping, scene understanding and perception. Flagship projects include RobotCar UK and a complete autonomy system on small “pods” for urban use. He is co-founder of the spin-out company Oxbotica which develops autonomy software systems for autonomous vehicles in a wide variety of deployments.
