Shaping Dubai around Life, Agility, and the Human Experience
Urban Future Week Workshop | In collaboration with Dubai Design Lab
Urban planning is often framed around infrastructure and land use. Building on the work of Dubai Municipality with Hewi, this workshop repositions planners and architects as stewards of the human experience: Designing with agility to meet changing needs.
Rather than starting with zoning maps, participants will begin with people’s lived journeys; how they experience streets, public spaces, and services. We’ll then work backwards: what planning decisions, policies, and design choices enable these experiences at scale, and how agility helps adapt them over time.
Through this workshop, participants will be introduced to a framework to notice daily moments of inclusivity, accessibility, and wellbeing.
